Alton Sports Centre

Having worked here as a lifeguard throughout college then in University holidays for around 4 years (1996-2000) I can vouch for the huge number of facilities available to the public (and the great lifeguarding at the time!!)The Sports Centre is a hugely popular facility with everyone in Alton and the surrounding area and rightly so. Apart from a fairly dated cafe and sports bar, all the amenities have been updated over the years, including the addition of a large indoor climbing centre and outdoor astroturf. I have used the gym, badminton courts, swimming pool and sauna and sunbeds countless times in the past and have always been satisfied. Parking can be a problem at times (despite extending it) and all the staff are pretty young (normally students) but it is a great facility to have so close to home.
