About Amarna Spa at The Lythe Hill Hotel
We searched to find a mid week break at a gourmet hotel with gym, pool and spa. We were overjoyed with the facilities at the Amarna spa. (We had a lovely room in the hotel too, but we only used it to sleep, as we were in the spa all day). It included gym, lovely full size pool, sauna, jacuzzi, ice shower, steam room, tennis courts and pool side cafe.My friend had a few treatments and was pleased with them all. The spa receptionists/manager/therapists and personal trainers were very friendly and helpful. After the first day they recognised us and chatted to us. We had a very peaceful and relaxing break, this spa is set in beautiful rolling hillside. It was only busy once or twice during our stay, but it was easy enough to go for a walk in the grounds when there were a few people using the pool.The pool side loungers were very relaxing and the cafe was a great place to meet. The staff took our orders for lunch and went to the restaurant to collect it. The spa was a stroll away from the hotel, so I'm not sure how it would work in the rain. (The dinner and breakfasts were very high quality, again with friendly service and the restaurant was in a very interesting historic building, again separate from the hotel. There were also lots of other buildings and conference rooms)For our mid week break the spa was very relaxing and welcoming, we were lucky that we mostly had the facilities to ourselves. I hope they manage to keep up this same atmosphere and high standards when they are more people about.
