About Ayurveda Clinic & Spice Spa

My friend Jo and I booked a ‘Spice Spa Experience’ at the Ayurveda Clinic and Spice Spa.It cost £29 each on special offer (normal price £35) and included a delicious package of treatment. On arrival we were greeted by our therapist Sabine who patiently took us through what our package included and what we could expect from our treatment. The clinic itself is beautifully presented with individual treatment rooms. It has a real boutique feel without coming across as snobby or impersonal. We started off with 25 minutes in an infrared cabinet (much more healthy than a traditional sauna). We passed the time chatting and browsing through the menu of tempting optional extras that the spa offered. Our package included a therapeutic turbo-charged hydro bath soak - basically a massive bath filled with hot water and lots and lots of water jets. While Jo took her turn in the bath I had an optional extra. I had 15 minutes of Iolife treatment - a machine (one of only a handful in the UK) that creates a highly concentrated stream of charged ions which release their charge when they make contact with the skin, creating a current through the body. However it works, it was fantastically relaxing and refreshing.By the time my treatment was over Jo had finished in the turbo bath and was being indulged in her optional extra - a foot massage. I jumped in the bath (which you wear bathing costumes for) and began to relax even more.Next up on the list was a heated haman with our bodies scrubbed and wrapped. The treatment was completed with a shower and a refreshing cup of herbal tea.Overall, we both thought the spa was fantastic. I’m a spa regular and always book in at ‘country estate’ type venues across the Midlands - often paying hundreds of pounds. Well this experience beat them all hands down - and at a fraction of the price. The treatment was far more personal and you get a better sense of general wellbeing than you do by being ‘processed’ in a big name spa.I’ve already booked my returned visit to the Ayurveda Clinic and Spice Spa and I’m looking forward to many more after that!
