This was my first experience with Bikram yoga, anywhere, anytime after being an avid yoga devotee for many years & whilst I knew it would be hot, I don't think I was fully prepared for how hot! The first session I literally felt like I was going to vomit or die(I have since learnt that Bikram calls it his torture chamber!)and I had to sit down a couple of times just to get through...(this is apparently due to the expulsion of toxins due to sweating). However, the posture's were not unlike those that I had done in other streams of yoga and I did notice my flexibility was increased with the heat. It wasn't unitl I left the room that I felt the full benefit and euphoria attached to meeting the challenge, and this is what 6 months later has led to me moving some 350k's to live close to a bikram studio! Having experienced other studio's I can now say that this one is a quality studio, with lockers for valuables, lovely showers, clean, it is well priced with a good ambience and both staff students and teachers alike are all very friendly. I am looking forward to getting back there in a couple of months and would thoroughly recommend you give it a go while you are on holiday, just make sure you drink a lot of water (about 3 -4 litres a day) avoid alchol, do not eat for at least 2 hours before class and replace electroloytes with coconut water!
