About Chancery Hairdressing

When the Mobdeal for Chancery Hairdressing in London came up, I snapped up the offer immediately. The offer was £12.50 for a hairwash, conditioning treatment, haircut and blowdry by a graduate stylist. The immediate perception was that as a qualified person working in a London salon, surely £12.50 would be a bargain? I am sorry to have to report that this was definitely not the case.Upon arrival, the salon is very small and the facilities are not great. It also did not feel very clean. The staff however are very pleasant and welcoming, but I was left to wait for about 10 minutes despite arriving on time.I already had short hair, so was looking for something a bit different and a general tidy up of my current hairstyle. I asked for the side of my head to be shaved and blended into the rest of the hair asymmetrically and the other side of the head to be tidied up. The stylist, who I discovered actually graduated from a few years ago (i.e. not a new graduate from this year) spent about 5-10 minutes holding my head and moving my hair around, probably deciding what they were going to do with it. I did not feel that they felt overly confident and knew what they were doing. The stylist then disappeared for about 10 minutes to look for the clippers, eventually when she returned, she did shave the side of my head having spent another 5-10 minutes parting it. I had since felt that this was not done correctly and not very neat. The shaved area was not blended in correctly and i have a poorly shaved part on the top part of my head that sticks up, I find this embarrassing so it was a good job that my hair still had some length next to that part which i am now having to comb over.Rather than actually cutting my hair, the stylist pushed the scissors across the ends of my hair all over, this lasted for around half an hour and was painful. My eyes were watering from the pain. I did mention this but it continued as that was for the textured effect they were trying to achieve.Halfway through my appointment I did wonder what happened to the wash and conditioning treatment that was part of the offer, my hair was washed afterwards and had some condtioning cream put on it (not really much different from any other salon). The blow-dry took place immediately afterwards which is where i discovered i was disappointed and unhappy with my cut. The stylist spent some time afterwards trying to tidy it up but I think it was beyond salvage and i felt guilty making the stylist do things to try and rectify it, but felt that she wasn't really understanding me and I was being fussy.I am really sorry to report that I would never return to chancery hairdressing again and would personally not recommend it. I do believe these things are worth a try though, perhaps I was just unlucky.
