Gymbox at Covent Garden

Gymbox rocks. It has its limitations, but it rocks. Evenings are full on, pumping music, active singles scene (esp if you're gay), lots of classes including. Not so much my bag so I prefer the mornings. Loads of room to work out; all the kit you need (hammer strength and cable machines gallore: my favourite); a good mix of quality classes, especially the boxing, as you'd expect; AMAZING yoga teachers, great PTs (or VPTs as they call them - very personal). The building is a converted cinema so it's set on tiered floors with a high ceiling and impressive 'floating' stuido. No natural light and the yoga room is a bit industrial to get fully into the spiritual zone but still, it works. Slightly annoying that towels are extra but I guess that's London. Occassional visits from celebs, particularly if they're staying at St Martin's next door. The Hoff was in last week: what a treat!
