Heads High Brixton

Visiting this hairdresser was a new experience for me. I was taken by my fiancé, who is fully responsible for my hair, it’s style, length and the maintenance of it. It got to a point when she said “your hair needs a trim”. As I do when it comes to her and my hair, I said “ok, let me know when and where”. My fiancé has taken me to a few places in the past and often had problems with the end result. I mentioned her plans for me to a family member of mine, and was told about Heads High. This hairdresser was highly recommended to me by my sister, who went on to tell me the long list of my family members who have visited this salon recently, all of who were very impressed and most of who have been on multiple occasions. I told my fiancé about it and she said “let’s give it a go”, so we did. The salon is in Brixton, but you would not think it was for afro hair, like mine. I can only say good things about the salon and the hairdresser, Jacob, who did my hair. I was a big fan of the décor, the layout, the colours and the space. I enjoyed good company and conversation with the hairdresser, who, along with a bubbling soundtrack, made the 90 minutes of attention I got fly past. I was there with my fiancé who was made to feel very welcomed too. Jacob listened to her wants for my hair, her previous problems, what she wanted to avoid and what she was hoping to achieve. He also explained what he was doing and why, what he was trying, the options available, the products he was using/going to use and what was to be expected from these products. He gave her good advice on what else she can do when caring for my hair, and some things she can do differently, including random pieces of equipment she can use and where she can get particular products from. I think how much Jacob spoke to and shared with my fiancé, really made her feel better about having my hair in his hands. It made clear his knowledge and experience of dealing with afro hair and achieving what she was after, along with giving another perspective on the hair on my head. I must apologise to Jacob for often mentioning my barber. He did make it clear that he is not a barber, even though he did get some clippers out and did a very good job with those too! It was the first time I visited Jacob at Heads High and can fully understand why so many of my family members have been, and on numerous occasions. I too will be going back, and would highly recommend Heads High to anyone needing or wanting a trip to the hairdressers. Thanks again (from both of us)!

I had my first ever curly hair cut today with Jacob - it was amazing! I’m almost speechless by how impressed I am, not just with the cut, but also with the salon and how jacob taught me what’s best for my curly hair. I would 1000% recommend to anyone, and will be back soon! Thanks once again Jacob

Found the salon a few months ago, have now been twice and have to say I absolutely love it!! The staff is super friendly, it’s a lovely little location and superb job. I have thick curly hair so it has been difficult to find a salon that knows how to cut it, took a chance on Heads High and I couldn’t be happier. Ana Claudia does an amazing job every time, very attentive, super friendly, listens to what I need and gives my hair the best care. Absolutely love this salon, so recommend it!
