ImmaQulate Oxford Street

ImmaQulate is situated in the basement of a tanning salon spitting distance from Selfridges, down a very bijoux road, full of cafes, bars and little shops. The salon opened on Wednesday (a week early due to demand from customers - the owner Zephney has another ImmaQulate salon in Clapham Junction) and as a result is still on the back foot slightly.There is no signage on the street to indicate ImmaQulate's presence and currently there is just the one beauty room which is in need of a lick of paint or some scarves or pictures to jazz it up a bit. However I'm sure these teething problems will be addressed in the coming weeks... the important business is really the treatment and the therapist, and both were great.This was the most painless wax I have ever had. Zephney used hot wax (which I would always recommend over strip wax) and was precise and quick. Normally there's a smarting feeling when the wax comes off, but you know you're in good hands when you don't even flinch. Best of all my treatment was half price. So not only a pain-free wax but a cheap one at that! This is not the place to come if you are looking for a 'spa experience' but for hassle-free, local beauty maintenance it ticks the right boxes and as all introductory treatments are currently half price I'd urge anyone who lives or works locally to give it a go.
