Jon Hala Salon

Hi John I’ve been a regular client of your salon for sometime now. Unfortunately I don’t have a great experience today - I got the usual root colour and roots done with blow dry. I had desired for the blow dry for the stylist to blow dry and then use an iron with wavy curls as I usually do given my hair is frizzy. However, I believe the stylist was not aware of it so ended doing a blow dry mainly. After I mentioned this to her she used the iron but ended up making the hair quite flat. I appreciate there may have been a misunderstanding which led to this but when I mentioned this to her she had a very rude reaction. I also mentioned this at the reception as my ears also had not been cleaned. My ears were subsequently cleaned of the colour but reaction to my hair style was lukewarm warm. It is service and going the extra mile especially for loyal clients that differentiates the best firms over time. I am sorry to say I was disappointed with the attitude more than anything else today.

“More than hair” Walking in for the first time in 2022, I received a hair cut from Jon himself. I was quite sad that I had to leave London the next day when I knew in that moment, it’s the best haircut I’ve ever received. It was hard to top that anywhere in the world. Reason being - his skill set combined with a very humble man that has extremely grounded energy to make a woman feel safe, you’re not sitting there with your hands clenched feeling stressed while getting a haircut. You know the environment you’re in is highly professional. My hair looked fresh out the salon for about 6 months after. When you walk into Jon Hala salon, you commit yourself to leave everything outside yourself, behind. It’s a space for you to be YOU. Fast forward to today, one month in London meant 4 visits to the salon. Had to get my once a week fix. In a fast paced world - the spaces that keep their values as they grow are spaces I truly respect. They keep getting better. You’re not only paying for very talented artists, a family business and years of passed down skills but for some time to re-connect with yourself and you’ll only know what I mean when you experience it yourself. I can’t recommend Ellie enough! She’s incredibly talented at her craft and always makes me feel at ease. Ellie truly listens to my concerns and takes the time to understand how I want my hair to look. She offers thoughtful recommendations for styles that suit my face shape and lifestyle, which I really appreciate. Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she’s also so easy to talk to—it’s always a pleasure visiting her. Ever since I found her, I haven’t gone anywhere else, and I definitely plan to keep coming back!
