About Kenvigs
Kenvigs have a big advert in the window stating "20% off all treatments Mon to Thurs".I usually get my eyebrows waxed at my regular salon who are very friendly and do a super job, but are often booked up as they are so busy so unable to fit customers in at short notice.As my eyebrows needed doing, I noticed the sign while walking past and enquired about the offer and asked if they could fit me in for an eye brow wax there and then.Surprisingly, they were free and waxed my eyebrows and charged me £5 instead of the £6 advertised on their leaflet (20% off should actually have made it £4.80, but I wasn't bothered about the 20p).A couple of months later, I was again walking past on a week day and saw the sign was still up, so popped in and asked if they could fit me in for an eye brow wax. Again, they were free and there was no sign of any customers (This alone should have set alarm bells ringing).The 'beautician' waxed my eye brows and it seemed really quick and hurried. When she showed me the results, I told her one eyebrow looked thinner than the other, but she dismissed my concerns and said they looked the same to her.When I went to pay, they refused to honour the 20% off and tried every excuse going to get out of it. First, they said the offer was only for students, which was rubbish as the sign clearly stated 20% off all treatments Mon to Thur with no mention of students. Then they said it didn't apply to small treatments like eyebrow waxes. Again, it stated "all treatments" and as I pointed out, I had been charged the 20% off price only a couple of months ago.Then they begrudgingly agreed to give me 10% off and asked for £6.30. I pointed out on their price list that eyebrow waxes were £6 so asked how £6 minus 10% could be £6.30. They then muttered they thought the eye brow waxes were £7 and that I would have to pay the full £6.I remained polite the whole time and paid the £6 as they were obviously desperate for every penny they could get as there were so few customers, but left vowing to never return.I know it is only a small amount of money, but it is the principle. Companies should not advertise offers if they are not willing to honour them.I can't believe Kenvigs would lose a customer over pennies. When I stated they had tricked me into coming in with their false advert, they said they would take it down.However, I have gone past today and it is still up there. Be warned: Kenvigs do not honour this offer so don't get tricked into going in.I got home and realised that one eyebrow WAS thinner than the other - friends and family have also noticed this.So a botch job as well as a rip off and unfriendly customer service.AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I will stick to my usual salon where staff are lovely and results are superb.
