About Massage Envy Eastgate

I've been going to Massage Envy at Eastgate Center in Chapel Hill for weekly massage for more than 6 months to get help with chronic pain. Although I've had to change massage therapists because some moved on to other locations, the therapists and front desk staff have been able to recommend others on staff who were equally able to provide the type of massage I needed. I have never been disappointed with any of the therapists; they all have excellent training and listen to their clients. The hours and wellness plan make frequent massage affordable rather than a luxury -- although the massage feels pretty luxurious! I took my mother to a Massage Envy near her home and was not as pleased with the experience at that location. The rooms were cramped and lacked basics such as hooks for clothing. Until that experience I was unaware that the various locations were franchises and many have different fee scales. I think the Eastgate location is fortunate that the Chapel Hill area has several good massage schools, giving them a larger pool of therapists to draw from than might be available to other locations. The one thing I don't like is the switch to paper cups for post-massage water. They used to hand out bottles of water (probably over the top and too much plastic) to remind clients to increase water intake after a massage. The therapist now greets you with a mini-paper cup of water that you either have to gulp on the spot or slosh as you walk out the door. Minor irritation, and the only thing I'd change.
