The salon itself is nice, clean, friendly people. Unfortunately, the woman who cut my hair took absolutely nothing I said into consideration. I went in after searing off some hair leaning over a candle, with the intent of having my hair blended to lose as little length as possible. I am not a fan of the modern blunt cuts, and had long layers that I loved. Rather than blending my hair as I mentioned, maintaining length as best she could per my request, and avoiding a modern “beach wave” cut, this woman immediately cut 7-9 inches of hair off. She proudly held it up and asked if my hair felt thicker. NO. No, my hair did NOT feel thicker. It felt SHORTER. She mentioned that cutting the layers off would make it feel thicker (that’s obviously how layers work…they get thinner as the hair tapers down ). I’ve gone back and forth over whether to mention anything about this but as someone who sincerely values long hair and is now shoulder length, I am truly heartbroken. She chopped my hair off just in time for Christmas and my birthday. I have naturally wavy hair that was once capable of air drying and looking beautiful - it is now a blunt mop, and I look like hermione granger.

I've been going to Selah for a year now, and she is simply amazing! She always does a fantastic job and makes sure I'm comfortable throughout the entire process. Selah checks in with me before, during, and after to ensure I'm getting exactly what I want. She's incredibly kind, non-judgmental, and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful hairstylist!
