I turned up 10 minutes early for my 5pm massage today, and was just very excited for my appointment, only to have the receptionist tell me that she was about to call me (but didn't) to let me know that the spa is running severely behind schedule....and offered me a seat and a glass of water while she "checked with my therapist" to see what the situation was... While I waited in the waiting area for 10 minutes, half of me hoped they could fit me in, the other half was really disappointed and wondering if they were running so far behind, why didn't they ring my mobile at least an hour before my appointment to let me know there was going to be trouble....before I made the effort to actually show my face in person??After making me wait for 10 minutes, another woman dressed in a therapist uniform named Megan regrettably informed me that they would not be able to honour my appointment (by the way, if it was opposite, many places charge you the full sum, so the double standard isnt great, I think).I was given a £20 voucher for the spa...hmmm....and I asked for the manager's name (Monika) and will be writing her an email as well. The fact that I was not alerted in advance was just unacceptable, but I guess I will give it another shot at some point...perhaps.
