The Castle Climbing Centre

In my opinion the Castle is the best indoor rock climbing venue in London. It's certainly the biggest and the atmosphere is always lively (especially with friday dj's). They change the routes on a very regular basis and have a great spread both of difficulty and types of climbing with lead routes, top ropes and bouldering all very well provisioned.Normally I climb with friends but did take part in a corporate event there a couple of years ago and found the instructors to be professional and friendly. When talking to them independently (usually after hurting myself or returning lost keys!) they've always been just as great. I have friends who use the guided groups on a more regular basis and are always complimentary.The only minor downsides are the average changing facilities and the fact that it's so popular. Midweek especially it can get rather crowded. If you're with an instructor that is less of a problem though as they'll clear the routes.Just remember if driving not to park your car beyond the gates and check if arsenal are playing cos all the parking rules change!
