The decor is an absolute treat - think of a living, breathing Agent Provocateur window. Gorgeously groomed staff in seamed stockings and pink & black uniform preen and primp customers. However, my experience here was a bit hit and miss. I went on the afternoon of my 30th birthday, as I love retro and burlesque, and wanted a cool look to go with my wiggle dress for that evening. However, when i arrived, I was told a hen party was due, and despite arriving before the hens, I was kept waiting 30 minutes so that staff could meet and greet them and give them drinks etc. While having my hair and makeup done, my stylist kept leaving me to go and talk to the hens and seemed very rushed and distracted. As a result, my makeup was no better than I'd do at home - concealer wasn't even applied, and the limited colours meant I had a horrible browny red lipstick applied which wasn't my colour at all. My hair was a bit better but when my friend picked me up she burst out laughing! I think I looked old fashioned, rather than retro, and there is a difference. I went home and washed it all off. I wouldn't go again, sadly. A shame, as I thought I'd love the place.
