Carshalton has many green spaces,with three noteworthy big parks. The first is Carshalton Park which has been much reduced from its former size. However, it still holds strong as one of the best parks in the area. Grove Park, the closest of the three to the village centre, exemplifies a traditional Victorian park. The last, Oaks Park, is large and provides long trails throughout its grounds. Carshalton has two train stations: Carshalton Beeches station and Carshalton station. Neither of these have services on the London Underground, however, Morden station is, on average, a 15 minute bus ride on the 157. The leisure facility in Grove Park has both health and fitness facilities which include two swimming pools, a sports hall, a squash court and fitness centre. The Charles Cryer Studio Theatre puts on frequent theatrical and musical productions. Local schools include: St. Philomena's School, Carshalton High School for Girls, Carshalton Boys Sports College, Stanley Park High School, and Carshalton College. There are a number of bars and pubs within Carshalton including: The Coach and Horses, The Fox and Hounds, The Greyhound, and The Woodman all on the High Street. Additionally, The Windsor Castle is on Carshalton Road, the Sun and the Railway Tavern on North Street, The Lord Palmerston on Mill Lane, The Racehorse on West Street, and The Hope also on West Street.
