East Ham Nature Reserve on Norman Road is set in a ten-acre churchyard, which is one of the largest in the country. It can be found alongside the A13 and provides nature trails and a much needed tranquil space. Central Park, on High Street South, is another green space worth a visit. It boasts facilities such as tennis courts, a bowling green, a cafeteria, an ornamental pond and a play area for children. Central Park is Newham's most popular park, with almost half a million visitors per year. Another park is Plashet Park on Plashet Grove. Sporting facilities can be found at East Ham Leisure Centre on Barking Road and a school known for sporting achievements is Langdon Comprehensive Secondary School on Sussex Road. For an interesting sight in E6, visit the Newham College of Art, which has a large mosaic mural over the entrance. Newham Academy of Music can be found on Wakefield Street. As a multicultural area, there is a diverse variety of shops and restaurants to choose from. Robins offers traditional east end food such as pie and mash and jellied eels. The nearest public transport is available from East Ham tube station on High Street North. There are also a number of bus routes that serve the area.
