Beyonce Knowles, an American R&B recording artist born in September 1981 famous for being a third of girl group Destiny's Child. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and as a child she competed in many dancing and singing contests where her talent was first recognised. Beyonce rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny's Child who are one of the world's best selling singing groups of all time. In 2003 Beyonce released her first solo album "Dangerously in Love" where she had number one hits with "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy". She collaborated with the likes of Sean Paul and the album was extremely successful. She has since released other albums such as "B'Day" and "I Am... Sacha Fierce". This year Beyonce has released a brand new album titled "4" which is her fourth studio album. Beyonce is not just known for her singing, she has also smashed the Box Office with films such as "Obsessed" and "Dream Girls". Beyonce has been recognised as an independent woman who other females can look up to. She smashed Glastonbury as the headliner and made headlines all over the world with her stunning performance. Beyonce has endorsed products such as Pepsi, L'Oreal and Armani. She has been ranked second on Forbes list of the 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world. Beyonce has gained 16 Grammy Awards, 13 as a solo artist and 3 as a member of Destiny's child.
