Back Massage
We put an awful lot of pressure on our backs, and many of us feel aches and pains on a regular basis. Good, professional back massage therapy can work wonders for this area of the body. Go on, treat yourself - you'll never look back (excuse the pun). A back massage is the rubbing or kneading of the back in specific areas and focussing on specific muscles and pressure points. It can be relaxing but it is also used to reduce areas of aches and pains. There are many different types of back massages but popular ones include Swedish, Deep-Tissue and Sports massage. A sports massage usually focusses on a specific issue or area and can help loosen and warm up muscles before or after an athletic event. It is less about the pressure and more about the stretching out of the muscles. A Swedish massage is the most popular and involves long strokes and kneading of the muscles and is a great stress booster. A deep tissue involves more pressure and can some times cause a slight discomfort for a few minutes. This does resolve severely knotted muscles
