Redcar is well connected through its three railway stations. Redcar Central railway station serves the town centre and has routes to many destinations on the Tees Valley Line. This railway station is located on Kirkleatham Street. The trains from Redcar have several destinations including Saltburn, Middlesbrough and Darlington. Many main roads serve Redcar, as the A1085, A1042 and A174 run through the town. Bus routes run on these roads, with destinations to Middlesbrough, Eston, Marske-by-the-Sea and Saltburn. Because Redcar is mainly a tourist town it offers many amenities for entertainment and tourism. Within the town you can find antique dealers, donkey rides, ice cream parlours and many other attractions. Most of the restaurants and eateries in TS10 are located on High Street. Also, many of the nightclubs and bars are also located on this street. Redcar is home to two museums, the Kirkleatham Museum and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. The Kirkleatham Museum is located just off of Kirkleatham Lane and details the area's natural and local history. The Zetland Lifeboat Museum is located on King Street and is home to the oldest surviving lifeboat in the world. Redcar Racecourse is located on Aske Road and is a thoroughbred horse racing venue. First opened in 1875, the track has provided much entertainment to the town over the years.
