About Azure Day Spa and Laser Center
I bought a Groupon deal online for a Swedish Massage, 75mins for $49. I have to admit that when I gave Groupon the below feedback they were extremely responsive and timely. They did give me a $20 coupon for my next Groupon deal purchase which was more than I expected. I just wanted to warn others never EVER to go here. When I walked into the place about 15mins early for my appointment there was nobody in the reception area. I waited about 10mins and then saw some movement in an office behind the reception area. Nobody greeted me or welcomed me or told me what to do. Finally the woman in the office (who I think may be the owner) looked at me and said, " you just had your massage right?" and I told her no and that I was here for a 4pm appointment. By now it is after 4pm (the time of my appointment) and she gave me forms to fill out and took me back to a sitting room and left me there without instructions as to what to do once I finished filling out the form. Still nobody has introduced themselves or asked my name or anything and I have never been to this place and have no idea what I should be doing. After a few minutes of waiting with nobody coming back I went to give someone my forms and a man dressed in dark clothing asked me if I was done. I told him yes that I'd been waiting and that previously I had been waiting in the lobby area but that nobody was around. He told me I should have come back here (how would I know to do this not seeing anyone and never having been there). He then showed me to a massage room, still never introducing himself or asking me my name, that was extremely small (I saw many other empty rooms all large and comfortable areas) and told me to undress and lay face down. I did. He came back and started massaging without asking me anything about if I had problem areas, if I liked gentle or deeper massage - nothing. I then asked if he had a bolster (the cushion that typically goes under your ankles when laying face down and under your knees when laying face up) and he got one and put one under my ankles but not under a clean cloth or sheet which is typical in my experience. The massage itself felt nice but it seemed he was not trained really and I'm not sure he was in fact a licensed massage therapist. When it was time to turn over I asked the use the bathroom and he told me there was only 15mins left. I said I still needed to use the bathroom and did he have a robe or something I could use. He said no and that I could use the sheet or get dressed. When I got back he massaged a bit more of my legs then never ever massaged my shoulders, neck or head but ended the massage abruptly by wiping me down with a wet warm towel that smelled very dirty and was freezing cold by the time he finished. As I mentioned before the room was small and so every time he went around to one side of me he would have to squeeze past my head and would knock the table each time (very relaxing). He also had a cold and kept sniffling then he would remove his hand from massaging me everyone once in a while (I could not see what he was doing but seemed he could be wiping his nose!). I felt dirty when it was over. He was waiting outside and didn't offer me water or anything. I went to leave my tip and they informed me at the front that there was a $2 service charge (not a lot of money but also not told to me in advance). When I questioned it the woman who I think was the owner told me only 1 % of people like me complained. It wasn't the money but her attitude and then she started to complain to me about how much work it was to manage the Groupon deal and did I know how many phone calls they were getting etc. She never asked how my experience was or if everything was okay. By this point I was a bit irritated (before coming to the front desk I was going to let it go) and told her that maybe she shouldn't do the Groupon deal if it was too much. She told me that maybe I shouldn't have bought it and walked away from me! What the heck kind of customer service is that? I can see why they needed the Groupon to even get anyone there. So that is why I didn't say anything more because she was not receptive and was rude to me. I did have to pay the $2 and I left only a $10 tip (normally I would have left between $15-20 depending on the treatment) which I don't think was deserved since the massage was only 60mins (they ended my massage on time as if they had started at 4pm and not 4:15pm).I really would never recommend that anyone go there. I have to say I did want to walk out of there toward the beginning but I had already paid and didn't think I would get my money back and kept telling myself to be open and not criticize. I went right home and took a shower feeling extremely dirty.
