About BEMER Health Centre, Surrey
After just one appointment with Kathy I am pretty convinced that magnetic therapy can work wonders! I went along to try magnetic therapy for the first time after hearing about it while visiting the Salt Cave, which is based in the same building. Kathy explained to me how the BEMER machine works and what it can do, and the case studies she told me about were incredible. From a man who avoided amputation of his foot by using the machine twice a day to someone with a skiing injury which healed in no time, Kathy has got loads of stories about people she has helped, and all because the machine stimulates microcirculation - which is so simple it makes perfect scientific sense. What really struck me is that it can work for all problems, big or small - from a burn which needs help healing to a bad sports injury or even relief from Parkinsons (apparently it massively reduces the shaking), it can solve all kinds of illnesses. Kathy's enthusiasm was definitely the driving force behind me believing in it - but also the science of the therapy, as I'm not one to argue with science! I didn't have a specific injury that needed dealing with but I have been suffering from eczema, something which can be eased with the therapy, and generally was lacking energy so thought it worth a go. I was given a glass of water and then went through to lay on the mattress, which had the magnetic coils in (but was perfectly comfortable) while Kathy set about turning it on to the 'base programme' for sixteen minutes. I was then left alone to have a snooze while it did it's work. My muscles felt a bit heavy and my head a little tingly but otherwise it was just like having a nap. Kathy came back after the first lot and added another twelve minutes of the intensive setting. Though I didn't need it, she also had an intensive applicator which you place directly on an area of pain for a stronger treatment. Afterwards I had another glass of water, and Kathy gave me some aloe vera gel to put on my arms which have recently been very dry - I am very wary of what I put on my skin being the most sensitive person on the planet but it sunk in and made my skin far softer, with no reaction to it. Kathy also sells these products and had sold some earlier to a young boy with severe eczema, so I knew it would be suitable for my skin. I think the gel was what made me see the difference but I'm sure continued use of the machine would show results. All in all the experience was great and very informative - despite Kathy not having a medical background, when it comes to magnetic therapy she knows her stuff and treats every person individually. It is about £20 a session which is pricey for me considering you should do it every day to maintain good health. However, I would definitely go again, and it's the first place I'm limping to if ever I have an injury!
