About Bikram Yoga Larchmont
Over the last 5 years, on and off, I have looked forward to my yoga practices. Although I am not an expert I am rather confident of my abilities throughout the 26 or so poses. And what is more important is that I feel good when doing them and in the company of those who I share it with. That is until I met Jean Cho at Bikram Yoga in Larchmont. I had decided to try the location for the wider availability and the schedule which afforded my the oppotunity to do more classes. My mistake. Jean Cho and her husband represent the antithesis of what yoga should be about. They think it is all about them and their egos. I have never been in a more negative yoga environment. During class Jean started muttering orders at me repeatedly, fine I tried to straighten my knee, when all of a sudden she ordered me(the paying client) out of the room. Being thrown out was a humiliating and degrading experience and was uncalled for. I have known now several yoga teachers and neither one of these 2 deserve to be "mentoring" those interested in learning. The whole experience was horrible and I would advise those considering this place to go elsewhere to a nicer, friendlier yoga where teacher self esteem issues are not so prevalent. I will still go to hot yoga returing to my old location where teachers smile and intermingle with students rather than pontificating from their perch in front of the class. For the sake of yoga everyone should boycott this place. Yoga and tyranny should not be one in the same. Those who go and PAY do so of their own will.
