Went in for a hot towel shave . I’ve had many hot towel shaves worldwide. This one was not that great. First of all my barber was a delightful fellow as was his colleague working alongside him. First thoughts: Cleanliness: the shop was ok although a bit untidy. The sink area was very cluttered. Tidy up as you go along! Smoker: my barber was obviously a smoker as his hands stinked of stale cigarettes. Wash your hands or better still - give up! Hot towel experience: was excellent. Very relaxing and felt clean. Soaping: could have been hotter and longer. Shave: this was the issue. Took too long and latterly during the first cut it became sore as there was insufficient lubrication. I should have spoken up but I didn’t. Second shave was better. Final hot towel could have been hotter. Result: sore and uneven cut. Missed areas. So much so that I had to personally finish off the job on my home return. I sensed that the hot towel shave was not a regular occurrence for my barber. All told it could have been a better experience; however, they were thoroughly decent barbers who meant well and this made up for the shortfalls.

I had my first haircut here and the service was excellent. They took their time to ensure it was perfect. It's one of the best haircuts I've had in a while and is great value for money
