About M Point
Unfortunately, I had an appalling experience with the the so called hair extensions expert who rents a chair at this salon. I had a full head of temple hair applied as a first customer at this salon where the extentionist rents a chair (the extentionist does not have her own salon as her website implies). I have been having hair extensions for a number of years now and know what to expect and can recognise a good job. The most important considerations being the QUALITY of the hair, the PLACEMENT of the hair, the QUANTITY of hair place alongside the client's hair and the COLOUR match. After spending considerable time with the extentionist at her home, matching my hair colour, etc, it was agreed that she would hand blend three colours into each extension piece and using very small micro rings, would attach that hair to my own. I attended on the appointed day for my appointment with the hair extentionist. She took out my old micro ring extensions, but what firstly surprised me was that instead of brushing through the whole of my hair, she just brushed each individual piece of hair, before reapplying new hair extensions with her hair. To be honest, I was at this stage not confident that this person really knew what she was doing. After a couple of extensions had been applied, I raised my hand to feel the extensions that had been applied and the hair extentionist told me to leave my hair alone and not to touch. After a very long time (about 5 hours), the hair extensions where complete. Unfortunately, they had not been applied correctly at all. Some did not sit flat to my head; I had an unbalanced number in each side of my head; to the right hand side of my hair the extensions had not been applied as far forward as the other side, which resulted in the hair looking very gappy to the right hand side. Also, despite asking the hair extensionist to apply three colours hand blended to each piece of my hair, she had decided to try and place the colour piece by piece, each solid pieces of different colour, which by the end of the job, simply did not blend in with my own hair. The result was that when my own hair was brushed over the hair extensions, you could see the distinct colour change of my hair over the hair extensions (the classic example of bad hair extensions applied by someone now knowing what they are doing). Also, large micro rings had been used in my fine hair, which you could see clearly visible through my hair. I was so annoyed at the end of the application that I just wanted to get out of the salon. I paid for my hair extensions and told the extentionist that I would call her later; I think it was apparent that I was not happy. I called the hair extentionist on my way home and explained all the problems and she offered to give me a full refund (I assume that this has happened before). I also called the next day to say that I had experienced quite a lot of hair shedding too ..... and it was at this point that the hair extentionist said that she could only refund my money for the application, and not that of the hair applied. I had paid in total £360 for the service, but all I could agree with the extentionist was a refund totalling £185. She did not even have the grace to agree to meet me herself, but instead made the arrangement that I should go to her home and pick up my refund from her husband!! Extraordinary! I had been nothing other than understanding and polite to the extentionist, but she just seemed to want to get rid of me. I am sorry for the length of this review, but I think it is fair to reflect the service in detail. I am astounded at the terrible application of these hair extensions, I would hazard a guess that the person applying them has (at best) just recently attended a training course, or (at worst) just bought an instructional video and has practised at home. My advice AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!
