About New York Diva Nails & Spa
I decided to get a manicure and pedicure at New York Diva since it is close to the place I am staying. It looks like one of your typical low-cost nail salons, where the basic services are offered. Not a fancy environment, but it looked clean and well-kept, without some of the crazy decorations you see at other places. Interesting to notice that there is also an area where some trays are stored, where the regular customers keep their own nail files, cuticle scissors, etc.The staff was nice and pleasant, overall a very comfortable environment. The pedicure was good and has been holding. The manicure was also classic, standard... Sometimes I allow them to cut the cuticles as they get really overgrown (I know that's a no-no in general, but anyway) .. and I haven't had too much of a problem with that yet. However, in the area where one fussy hangnail in my thumb was causing grief, which she did manage to extricate -- it has been throbbing ever since, about three days later, and I hope that I have not developed a possible infection. Just put some Neosporin on the spot and hope that will help matters.Manicure was cheap, at $10 pre tax (and if you don't want to be charged extra, say no to the "Quik-dry's" etc) and the pedicure was a tiny bit more expensive than I expected it to be, at $25, considering what's included, but that's okay ... Was a quick in-and-out, just what I needed.
