About Salon Ziba
In town for a wedding, I was looking for a good, affordable place near my friend's place to get a blowout for the big day ... Compared to some of the salons I walked by in the area, Salon Ziba looked a lot more sophisticated, with a cool vibe, and expected that the blowout prices would start at $50 and up. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they started at $38 (and considering I just got my hair chopped off, I didn't have too much hair to dry, so that price point was great for me). Natalia was my hairstylist and I told her I wanted my hair blow dried straight, with a deep part ... She asked if I wanted some curl, or bounce to my hair, and I responded with an adamant "No", remembering past "blowouts" where I end up looking like Shirley Temple. I have to give it to Natalia, though; she did exactly what I asked her to do, which was to somehow get my curly, unruly hair stick straight ... It was actually a bit too straight, but that was my own fault for not responding positively to her suggestion nor bringing a photo.. Visits to the hairstylists, I have discovered, definitely require you to do your own homework and bring photos if necessary, for now I saw clearly how difficult it is to explain what you want in a hairstyle. I was happy with it though and the hairstyle stayed perfect throughout the whole day and night well into the next day ... Overall a very good experience...
