I’ve been lucky enough to visit SKINWORK twice, and my first experience was genuinely fantastic (as you can see in my previous review). In December, I had the City Cleanse Facial with Bleona and was really impressed. So I returned in January for the January Detox promotion—but unfortunately, this visit was a bit disappointing. While the facialist was kind and pleasant, a few things didn’t quite live up to my expectations: • The appointment was meant to be 90 minutes but ended up lasting only 75. • There were no extractions at all—something I was really looking forward to. I even pointed out a large blackhead when I arrived, and during the facial I asked if proper (not just manual) extractions could be done. She said no, and seemed to think it wasn’t necessary. This was surprising, especially because my previous facialist had done an amazing job with extractions. That said, the facial was still very relaxing. However, a few administrative hiccups also left a sour note: • There was confusion around my deposit, and I had to wait over 20 minutes to get it sorted. It felt like I wasn’t really trusted or properly listened to, and the lack of a sincere apology didn’t help. • I also wasn’t able to use my £25 voucher, which I hadn’t realized only applied to non-promotional treatments. This felt a bit misleading—especially since the “promotion” pricing seemed designed more as a marketing tool than a true discount. With the service charge on top, the final cost was quite a bit more than I’d expected. All in all, it was a mixed experience. My first visit was a solid 5 stars, but this one felt more like a 3.5 or 4. I’d still consider recommending SKINWORK—but with a caveat: your experience might be amazing, or it might be a little uneven. Just something to keep in mind!
