About Urban Beach
Receptionists - The most unfriendly and rude ones I have ever seen. In their own words, they have 'lots of customers' and do not care about the actual individuals that make up that illusionary number. Once I wanted to reschedule an appointment and that female actually says that she doesnt find my reason convincing enough for a reschedule. I am wondering if the owner of this salon is deaf and blind!Therapies- Least value for money and again, no real care taken if you have sensitive skin or any other problems they need to be careful about while performing the treatments. The facials are absolutely no value for money, a 45 min facial is done for 20 minutes and apparently, the 45min figure includes your waiting time, the walking time etc etc. After waxing here a few times (bcos of time constraints), my formerly smooth skin is full of ingrowths. Thankfully I now have a professional therapist in O-spa who has helped fix this. I have heard some bad feedback regarding their tanning treatments as well. So, overall stay away if you care about your skin and have an ounce of self-respect.

I have been coming here for years and have always found it to be excellent. The staff are friendly and with the right balance of professionalism. The various treatments are done beautifully, and I cannot fault the cleanliness here. It's spotless! I cannot recommend this salon highly enough.

Urban Beach 's review by mrsdaytobr
Due to the lack of beauty salons in Canary Wharf I ventured into this salon dispite reading some of the bad comments. I really wasn't too sure of what to expect. As I walked into this busy buzzing salon there was happy, welcoming staff behind reception ready to help. I thought to myself, well this can't be that bad, it's busy and everyone seems happy and nice. I then decided to book in for some waxing. After paying a deposit and leavin my name and contact number I left the salon pretty impressed with the service. Later on that week I got a phone call the day before reminding me of my treatment the next day and just confirming all the times etc was still ok. The next day I went to Urban Beach and yet again I had the same experience. A busy buzzing salon with friendly staff there to help. I went through with my therapist who done my waxing and that's WHERE I HAD THE BEST WAX I HAVE EVER HAD. The girl was amazing at her job, quick but very confident in her job and so sweet and chatty. I would definitely recommend this salon to any one. It's clean friendly and bursting with happy clients and happy staff. I have booked myself in some more treatments and I can't wait to get back into this fabulous salon.

Urban Beach 's review by Carmen100
Oh My God....totally agree with above reviews! Appalling customer service, very rude receptionists! Went to have a waxing treatment recently, on finishing I was told by the receptionist that I had to pay for a cancelled appointment 4 months ago (!). I told her I have been to that appointment and she insisted it didn't show up on the system or in the books. She said if I didn't pay I 'would not be allowed in here again'. I retrieved my bank statement and showed the transaction for that appointment on that date and told her that is no way to talk to customers and accuse them of lying. Instead of getting an apology for her mistake, another employee jumped in to say that I 'had accused them of lying too' and that I should 'cut the drama'!! Crass, loud, hostile and incompetent. Not even worth a 1/5 rating. Avoid, avoid avoid.

Avoid at all costs. Completely agree with the review left already. Visited on at least 3 occassions, not because I rated this place but because was a real lack of beauty salons in Canary Wharf at that time and it was close to my place work but I won’t be going again. The receptionists are unprofessional & abrupt. Their training on customer service is non existent. On one occassion the therapists had a discussion with the receptionist about a client that had just left the salon in front of me. Staff should be trained to respect client confidentiality. Felt sorry for the lady that had just left. On their website it states receptionists must be presentable, polite and bubbly…that is far from true. Their should be a code of conduct for establishments such as this to follow, Urban Beach would fall far short. I tried to book a quick manicure on one occassion and was told i had booked and not shown up to an appointment one week ago, which I had never booked.. Before i could book in for a quick manicure the receptionist said i would need to pay for the treatmentt which i had not booked. She then pointed out that her colleague who was a therapist that supposedly took the booking doesn’t make mistakes and that i always had a manicure. What a ridiculous argument. I wasn’t in the Wharf on that date and received no call from Urban beach chasing me for an appointment which i know they would have done had they taken a call from me. Treatments are sloppy and hurried, you feel you on a conveyor belt rather than having a relaxing treament. Although i know the cancelation policy it is not clearly explained, It should be explained to every caller that makes a booking whether it is their first visit or have visited before. As i have heard the receptionist very smugly stating to callers that they would be charged fully for not turning up to an appointment (for whatever reason). Just check out the prices at O-spa in the Wharf before you make an appointment too. Their prices are lower and their service is 100% better. Stay clear of Urban Beach.
