There are a number of historic green spaces in SW17, including Tooting Bec Common, which has a wide range of facilities such as a swimming pool, a running track, sports pitches, a children's playground and Tooting Bec Lido, which is the largest freshwater open air pool in the UK. Tooting Common is a much wilder area, which allows wildlife to flourish. Other parks include: Gorringe Park and Tooting Graveny Common, which is protected from development. These parks are used for walking, picnicking, jogging, sports and community events.Another popular attraction is Tooting Market on Tooting High Street, which has been described as one of the ‘larders of south London'. Although there are some stalls selling other products, the vast majority of stalls sell food. There is a huge selection from around the globe to choose from, however, there is a particular emphasis on Caribbean food. A greyhound racing track can be found at The Wimbledon Stadium on Plough Lane. SW17 contains a number of transport links such as Tooting Bec tube station, Tooting Broadway tube station and Tooting railway station.
