Feltham's location just south east of Heathrow is not far from the city itself. From Feltham Rail Station, one can take a southwest train that comes every 10 minutes to Waterloo (30 minute journey). One can also take the same train in the other direction towards Reading.Feltham remains one of the greenest areas in Greater London. It includes three rivers, part of the once huge Hounslow Heath, a country park formed from converted gravel pits, and London Air Park, which is now a large public open space.Most of the shopping in the area is done on Feltham High Street. The high street has a new ASDA, a Tesco, an Aldi and a LIDL the other side of the station. There is a Sainsbury's at the A316 roundabout just the other side of Hanworth, a large 24 hour Tesco on the road to Heathrow, an even larger Tesco Extra, once the largest in the country, at Sunbury Cross to West.Just a few hundreds yards south east of the high street, Feltham has a 14 screen multiplex cinema (the largest in the borough), and shows Indian Cinema and Bollywood films as well as mainstream releases.The local social scene is centred around good English pubs. The Airman, The Mansion and the Red Lion are the three most highly rated.
