Alderly Edge is a unique location to visit, with a small village nestled against the western flank of a prominent ridge of land. There are several unusual attractions which can be found amongst the ancient trees, linked to the legend of the Wizard and his knights. Sandstones represent a time 240 million years ago as the Druid's Circle lies deep within the woods on the path between Stormy Point and the Beacon. The first written evidence of Alderly Edge, known as Chorelgh, appeared during the 13th century. This site is famous for its perceived affluence, celebrities, and expensive houses.Other attractions that are wonderful to experience near Wilmslow is Bollin Valley, which consists of a valley of wildflowers, canals, industrial archaeology and the Bollin River. The river runs from the hills surrounding Macclesfield Forest down to the Manchester Ship Canal. Longhorn cattle have flourished here since they were introduced in 1988 due to their hardy and docile nature. They exist here to maintain the conservation and value of the grasslands. Eight different trails are spread throughout the area with thousands of trees, flowers, and shrubs for walkers to enjoy.
