There are a variety of travel options in the area, with a number of nearby underground stations including Burnt Oak tube station on Watling Avenue and Edgware tube station on Station Road. These stations both operate on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line, in zone 5. Another underground station, Canons Park tube, is on the jubilee line in zone 5. It can be found on Whitchurch Lane and is the least busy station in the tube network. St Lawrence Whitchurch, also on Whitchurch Lane, contains beautiful ceiling and wall paintings by the artists Laguerre and Bellucci. Quiet green spaces are abundant in the area, providing refuge from the busy streets for visitors and locals alike. The most popular include Canons Park, just off Donnefield Avenue, Stonegrove Park, off Stonegrove, Edgwarebury Park close to and Chandos Recreation Ground on Merlin Crescent. There are also some golf courses in the area, with Edgwarebury Golf Course on Edgware Way and Stanmore & Edgware Golf Centre on Brockley Hill.There are two streams which run through the area; Edgware Brook and Deans Brook, which eventually join up along with some other sources, to become the Silk Stream. Shopping facilities are good in HA8, with The Boardwalk Mall on Station Road. This shopping centre has a number of popular high-street stores, including Marks and Spencer. Other useful facilities in the area include Edgware Community Hospital, which can be found on Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware Police Station on Whitchurch Lane and Edgware Library on Hale Lane.
